\nArt Museum<\/a><\/td>\n		The idea of the Zombie<\/em><\/strong> long predates
\nthat of the bloodthirsty undead that populated horror films since
\nthe 1960s. The original zombies were drugged victims under the
\ncontrol of certain powerful spiritual practitioners. Zombification
\nmay have been used as punishment for certain crimes. Lately,
\nthe word \u201czombie\u201d has found a place in diverse discussions, in
\ndisciplines such as economics, computer science, and entomology,
\namong others<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n
The Atlanta Zombie Symposium<\/strong> includes
\na panel discussion, entitled The Zombie Perceived: Religion,
\nMedia, and Society<\/em>; a double feature film screening of Night
\nof the Living Dead<\/em> and Return of the Living Dead<\/em>,
\ndirected by Dan O\u2019Bannon; and Dance of the Undead<\/em>,
\na dance party with Zombie Transformation Chamber. Area partners
\nwill participate through presenting other interpretations of
\nthe idea of the \u201czombie\u201d.<\/p>\n

\nAccording to the tenets of Vodun (voodoo), a dead person can be
